So… what can we do during the wait?

You did it! After months of studying, practice labs, mock exams, and stress, you’ve made it to the finish line. Now you’re in that strange in-between period — relieved, tired, and wondering: “What do I do now?”

Here are some helpful things to do during your wait for results:

1. Rest & Recover

Your brain and body deserve it. Sleep, stretch, walk, breathe — you earned this.

2. Celebrate Your Hard Work

Passing or not, completing ALL boards is a huge achievement. Treat yourself.

3. Update Your Resume & Professional Bio

You’re officially a soon-to-be RMT.
Start polishing your resume and creating a clean 3–4 sentence bio for clinics.

4. Start Researching Clinics

Things to look into:

  • Percentage split vs room rent
  • Team environment
  • Location & accessibility
  • Specialties offered
  • New-grad friendly support

Make a list of your top clinics so you’re ready to apply later.

✅ 5. Research PLI (Professional Liability Insurance)

Once you’re ready to register, you’ll need PLI.
Use the waiting period to compare:

  • RMTBC membership + insurance combo
  • BrokerLink / other insurance providers
  • Coverage amount
  • Added benefits (e.g., travel insurance, CGL options)

Researching now helps you make an informed choice without rushing.

6. Prepare Documents for Final Registration

Gather items you’ll need for CMTBC registration:

  • Government ID
  • Diploma
  • Character references
  • CPR-C / Standard First Aid
  • Eligibility-to-work documents
  • Passport-style photo

Being pre-organized = faster registration once results are out.

7. Light Knowledge Review

You don’t need to study hard anymore — but keep your brain warm:

  • Red flags
  • Pathologies
  • Contraindications
  • Clinical reasoning
  • Special tests
    Just gentle review.

8. Enjoy Life Before Work Begins

This period is rare — once you start practicing, your schedule fills fast.
Use this time to:

  • Travel
  • See family
  • Rest
  • Deep clean your space
  • Organize finances
  • Catch up on hobbies

🎓 Final Thought

Waiting is stressful, but you’ve done something incredible.
Be proud of yourself, take things slow, and give your mind a break. Your next chapter — as a licensed RMT — is coming soon. 💙
